Controlled Release Society (CRS) organized Annual Meeting, which focused on cutting-edge research and innovation across Nanomedicine. CRS members are worldwide experts shaping the future of delivery science and technology through fundamental delivery research, development, regulatory science, and clinical translation. The meeting was held in Las Vegas, NV, USA, July 24-27, 2023.

During the first two days, the program consisted of various workshops that explored different aspects of drug delivery. These included themes such as advancements in oral drug delivery, the role of formulation scientists in vaccine development, specifically on tailoring immunogenicity through rational formulation design. We have also the opportunity to hear from drug delivery entrepreneurs who shared their latest innovations through a series of focused 5-minute “elevator pitch” presentations.

Subsequently, the program offered a series of plenary sessions that addressed various aspects of drug delivery science, including bioengineering, skin and mucosal delivery of therapeutics, gene delivery and gene editing using nanomedicine, ocular delivery, new developments in characterization and process scale up, nanomedicine and nanoscale delivery, nervous system delivery, immune delivery, oral delivery and delivery technologies in cosmetics and consumer products, among others. Between the different sessions, emerging scholars had the opportunity to present their posters, which were then judges by a panel of experts.
